Certified Nurses Aid Program Instructor - Part Time - SUNY Orange

Job Description:In support of SUNY Orange's workforce development strategy, the Workforce Solutions unit is committed to delivering high-impact training programs that strengthen the skills and competencies of the local workforce. As part of this effort, SUNY Orange Plus offers a Certified Nurse Assistant (Aide) program designed to prepare students for careers in healthcare through hands-on training and real-world experience.The Certified Nurses Aide Program Instructor will be responsible for delivering instruction in the Certified Nurse Assistant (Aide) program, ensuring that all content and learning experiences align with NYSED regulations and industry standards. This includes classroom instruction, clinical supervision, and student support throughout the duration of the program.Key Responsibilities:Deliver engaging and effective instruction in accordance with the approved Nurse Assistant (Aide) curriculum and NYSED requirementsSupervise students during clinical experiences at affiliated healthcare facilitiesPrepare lesson plans, instructional materials, and assessments to support student learningMaintain accurate student records, including attendance, grades, and progress reportsEnsure compliance with NYSED regulations during instruction and clinical supervisionRequirements:Education Required: Registered Professional Nurse (RN, Associate Degree or Higher)Experience Required: Minimum of two years of experience as a Nurse with one year working in a nursing home/long term care facility caring for the elderly and/or chronically ill; and must provide documentation of at least one of the following:Certified to teach nurse aide or practical nursingHold a license as a trade school teacher of nurse aidesHave three years of experience teaching nursing or nursing related programs to adults in an academic setting approved by the Commissioner of EducationHave three years of experience teaching nurse aides in residential health care facilityHave completed a professionally recognized course in teaching adult learnersPreferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Worker Characteristics:* Prior experience instructing nursing programsAdditional Information:Deadline for Applying: Open until filledPosition begins ASAPSalary: $35-$38 per hour, teaching 12-16 hours per week during the summer semester with a flexible schedule.Orange County Community College does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin, religion, creed, age, disability, sex, gender identification, sexual orientation, familial status, pregnancy, predisposing genetic characteristics, military status, veteran status, domestic violence victim status, criminal conviction or any other category protected by law.
