Controller (Remote)

For our client, we are seeking a Controller (remote) to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will support financial strategy, forecasting, and performance management initiatives that strengthen business visibility and decision-making. You will partner with executive leadership and cross-functional stakeholders to improve planning processes, financial discipline, controls, and resource allocation. The position offers the opportunity to influence enterprise performance and scalable financial operations within a mission-driven environment.Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship availableCompensation: $140,903 – $154,993 annuallyResponsibilities Leading accounting operations and transaction processing in compliance with GAAP Ensuring an accurate and timely monthly close to provide key data for FP&A Coordinating and completing annual external audits and filings like Form 990 Designing and maintaining internal controls to safeguard organizational assets Identifying and assessing accounting and operational risksQualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field 8+ years of progressive accounting experience, including audit exposure Active CPA license Strong experience managing clean financial statement audits and internal controls Demonstrated ability to manage and develop a high-performing accounting teamBenefits Unlimited PTO 6-week paid sabbatical after 5 years 401k plan with employer match Medical coverage at 85% plus dental and vision contributions Employer-paid life insurance and short-term disabilityOur client is an equal opportunity employer.
