Role: Lean Process Engineer Location: Onsite/Hybrid - Dearborn, Mi Job SummaryThe Lean Process Engineer will lead end-to-end process improvement initiatives across both finance and the organization as a whole. This role is responsible for analyzing current state processes, identifying waste, designing future state workflows, and implementing Lean-driven and AI-Orchestrated solutions that enhance accuracy, speed, cost efficiency, and control.You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, finance leaders, and technology partners to ensure that redesigned processes align with business strategy, regulatory requirements, and operational goals.Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Analysis & OptimizationConduct end-to-end assessments of Finance processes to identify bottlenecks, waste, and improvement opportunities.Map current state and future state workflows using Lean, Six Sigma, and value stream mapping techniques.Define process KPIs, performance baselines, and measurable improvement targets.Lean Execution & ImplementationLead Lean workshops, Kaizen events, and continuous improvement initiatives.Develop and implement standardized processes, controls, and documentation.Drive adoption of AI, automation, workflow tools, and digital enablers where appropriate.Cross Functional CollaborationPartner with Finance, Operations, IT, and Compliance teams to ensure alignment and smooth execution.Facilitate communication between stakeholders to ensure clarity of goals, timelines, and deliverables.Support change management activities to ensure successful rollout of new processes.Governance & ReportingEstablish governance frameworks for process monitoring and continuous improvement.Track performance metrics and provide regular updates to leadership.Ensure adherence to regulatory, audit, and internal control requirements.Leadership & CoachingMentor teams on Lean principles and continuous improvement culture.Provide guidance to analysts and project team members involved in process redesign efforts.QualificationsRequiredBachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field.5–7+ years of experience in process engineering, Lean transformation, or operational excellence roles.Strong background in Finance processes (P2P, O2C, R2R, FP&A, treasury, or accounting).Demonstrated ability to lead cross functional process improvement initiatives.Proficiency with process mapping tools (e.g., Visio, Lucidchart, Signavio).Experience with Lean, Kaizen, and continuous improvement methodologies.Strong analytical, problem solving, and stakeholder management skills.Emphasis on foundational knowledge of AI capabilities, agents, and orchestrationPreferredLean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification.Experience in shared services, global business services (GBS), or finance transformation programs.Familiarity with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Workday) and automation tools (RPA, workflow engines).Knowledge of financial controls, compliance frameworks, and audit requirements.Experience in consulting or large‑scale transformation environments.
