Knife Operator - 7a & 7p shift

Job Purpose: To produce envelope squares that meet company quality standards while maximizing production and minimizing downtime Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities: 1. Check work of previous shift for qualitycorrectness and notify supervisor of any issues 2. Check and maintain the quality of the envelope squares throughout each job by following company quality control procedures 3. Set up knife machines for each job with minimal downtime 4. Keep machines cutting at optimum rate to meet or exceed production targets while maintaining quality standards 5. Identify machine malfunctions, troubleshoot, and correct in a timely manner 6. Notify a supervisor promptly when machines need maintenance/repairs above what can be completed by the operator 7. Keep knife machine and area around machine neatclean 8. Fill out production paperwork and pull samples as directed 9. Communicate with outgoing shift and incoming shift regarding equipment status, job status, and any other relevant information 10. Perform routine maintenance on machine as directed by supervisor 11. Duties include standing for most of the shift, repetitive handwrist motions, reaching with hands and arms, regular lifting of up to 50 pounds, and possibly working overtime 12. Cross train on other cutting equipment as time and production allows and as assigned by management. 13. Perform other duties as assigned by management from time to time 14.
