New Travel Assignment - Med Surg -Aiken, SC

Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) The Medical-Surgical RN is a skilled and compassionate nursing professional responsible for delivering comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical conditions and surgical needs. This role requires strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The Med-Surg RN collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and support staff to ensure safe, effective, and patient-centered care.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesApply the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for adult patients with diverse medical and surgical diagnosesConduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, physical exams, and health historiesAdminister medications, treatments, and IV therapies as prescribedMonitor and document patient responses to interventions and changes in conditionCollaborate with healthcare providers to develop and adjust individualized care plansPrepare patients for diagnostic tests, procedures, and surgeriesProvide preoperative and postoperative care, including wound care, pain management, and mobility supportEducate patients and families on disease processes, medications, discharge instructions, and self-careMaintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record (EHR)Adhere to infection control, safety, and quality standardsRespond promptly to emergencies such as rapid deterioration, falls, or code situationsSupport patient advocacy and uphold patient rights and confidentialityMinimum RequirementsCurrent Registered Nurse License in the state of practiceMinimum one year of professional nursing experience; Med-Surg experience preferredCompletion of Amergis' Competency Program (if applicable)Current BLS certification (ACLS preferred)TB screening and health clearance (as required by contract or regulation)Compliance with all federal, state, and local regulationsSuccessful completion of new hire orientation and Med-Surg trainingUnderstanding of patient confidentiality and HIPAA regulationsStrong communication skills and proficiency in EnglishBasic computer literacyMust be at least 18 years of ageBenefitsAt Amergis, we recognize that our nurses are the heart of our mission.
