With a commitment to personalized care, we work to make a positive, meaningful impact—because every heartbeat matters.Position OverviewThe Medical Assistant (MA) – Administrative & Pre-Authorization Support will provide clinical support to physicians and clinical staff while coordinating prescription prior authorizations, medication refill requests, and related documentation to ensure continuity of care for our patients. Role DescriptionThis is a Full-Time, on-site role for a Medical Assistant - Administrative & Pre-Authorization Support at our Orlando, FL location. The Medical Assistant will be responsible for supporting the healthcare team by assisting with patient care, managing medical records, handling pre-authorization processes, and ensuring the smooth operation of medical office functions. Daily tasks include coordinating administrative duties, utilizing medical terminology accurately, and interacting professionally with patients to deliver exceptional service. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented healthcare professional who thrives in a collaborative clinical environment and enjoys balancing patient interaction with administrative coordination. Key Responsibilities• Perform patient intake, obtain vital signs, assist with medication reconciliation, and prepare exam rooms • Support providers during patient visits and procedures within MA scope of practice • Prepare and organize patient charts and clinical documentation • Process medication prior authorizations, prescription renewals, and refill requests • Communicate with pharmacies, insurance carriers, patients, and providers regarding authorization status and medication needs • Maintain HIPAA compliance and accurate documentation within the EHR system • Assist with scheduling coordination and additional administrative support as needed • Participate in ongoing training related to EHR systems, medication workflows, and clinic operationsQualificationsCompletion of an accredited Medical Assistant program requiredCMA, RMA, or equivalent certification preferredBLS certification requiredMinimum 1–2 years of outpatient or clinical healthcare experience requiredExperience with EHR systems and medical documentation requiredPrior experience with insurance verification, prior authorizations, and medication workflows strongly preferredStrong communication, multitasking, and organizational skills requiredWhy Join Us?At The Cardiovascular Center of Florida, we believe in delivering exceptional cardiovascular care while fostering a collaborative, supportive, and patient-focused culture.
