Overview Senior/Staff Software Engineer, Buyside Team What You'll Do and Have a Direct Impact on First-Class Software Products in a hyper-growth, fast-paced, industry-disrupting SaaS company. What You'll Do Develop and maintain mission-critical services using Python, Django, JavaScript, Vue.js, PostgreSQL and AWS Take ownership of technical solutions from planning to production deployment Diagnose and resolve technical problems; build unit tests and automation to ensure quality Create maintainable code through thoughtful documentation, clean architecture, and comprehensive testing Shape the architecture by contributing to key decisions about the platform's current design and future direction Actively participate in interviewing and evaluating new team members Guide engineering practices and establish pragmatic standards for code quality Support junior team members through mentorship and technical guidance Review code and drive technical excellence through best practices and latest tools Maintain a working knowledge of advances and trends in programming and technology What You Have Proven track record of success in large enterprise SAAS software, distributed systems, scalability, and continuous development Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 6-9 years' experience OR Master's degree and 4-7 years' experience Senior level skill-set with core programming languages (Python, Java, C#, C/C++, etc.) Strong expertise in modern frontend technologies—JavaScript, TypeScript, and frameworks like React or Vue, with a focus on building scalable and user-friendly applications Experience with distributed task queues and asynchronous processing frameworks (e.g., Celery, Kafka, or similar) Experience working with distributed systems, inter-service communication protocols, and APIs (e.g. REST, NSQ, etc.) Experience developing transactional systems, where concurrency and data consistency are concerns Experience working with relational databases and SQL In-depth knowledge of Javascript, TypeScript, and Vue Extras You Bring Deploying into a public cloud service (AWS, GCP, etc.) Experience with containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) Understanding of distributed systems and building scalable/redundant services Experience with service monitoring, metrics, alerting, log aggregation, and tracing Experience with functional/acceptance testing Why Join Polly High Bar of Talent: Polly consistently performs in the top quartile of start-up companies with a selective interview process Disruptive Mission: Reimagining mortgage capital markets with a purpose-built platform Individual Impact & Growth: Visible impact, opportunities to work with leadership and cross-functional teams Hybrid Workplace with Innovation at the Core: On-site three days a week (Tues./Wed./Thu.) at Innovation Hubs in Dallas–Fort Worth and San Francisco Employee Benefits Competitive Compensation 100% company-paid medical, vision, dental, disability, and life insurance Flexible, non-accrued vacation policy Hybrid environment with on-site presence three days a week Interview Process Recruiting Screen – 30 minute 1:1 with a Polly Talent Team Member Initial Team Round – 30 minute 1:1 with Polly Engineer Team Member Take Home Assessment + Assessment Presentation Post Assessment Rounds – 4 rounds with peers, cross-functional team members, and executives Let's Get To Know Each Other Polly has revolutionized the mortgage industry with its data-driven capital markets ecosystem.
