Full Stack Lead (Hands-on Coding) / Full Stack Architect
Location: Dallas, TX / Rutherford, NJWork Mode: Hybrid: 3 days onsite weekly
Experience:
9+ years preferredROLE OVERVIEW:Lead the design and delivery of secure, scalable banking applications while remaining deeply hands-on in engineering. This is a coding-led technical leadership role: approximately 70% hands-on development and code reviews, and 30% system design, architecture, and technical guidance.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Develop and maintain end-to-end enterprise applications across React-based user interfaces and Java/Spring Boot backend services. Spend approximately 70% of the role coding, debugging, writing automated tests, reviewing pull requests, and delivering production-ready features; devote approximately 30% to system design and architecture. Design and implement REST APIs, microservices, integration patterns, data flows, and resilient service boundaries. Apply clean architecture, design patterns, secure coding, performance tuning, scalability, and fault-tolerance principles. Work with SQL/relational databases, messaging/event streaming, cloud infrastructure (AWS preferred), CI/CD, monitoring, and observability. Partner with product owners, architects, QA, DevOps, and banking stakeholders; mentor engineers and drive engineering standards.
REQUIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Strong hands-on Java, Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, and React experience; TypeScript is expected for frontend work. Demonstrated ability to deliver complex enterprise applications with a strong coding track record—not an architecture-only profile. Strong understanding of system design, API design, distributed systems, security, testing, and performance optimization. Experience with SQL, Git, CI/CD, cloud platforms, and automated testing. Banking/financial-services experience strongly preferred; experience with regulated enterprise environments is an advantage.
Work Arrangement:
Candidates must be available to work onsite three days per week and collaborate with distributed teams.
