We partner with schools to place trained, supported SLPs directly on campus, bringing our evidence-based curriculum, supervision model, and professional development infrastructure into the heart of each school community.The OpportunityAs a School-Based SLP with EmpatSpeech, you will deliver speech-language services directly to students on a school campus, using EmpatSpeech's curriculum, assessment frameworks, and clinical tools. This is a unique embedded role: you are part of the school community every day, yet your clinical home is EmpatSpeech. You'll benefit from robust onboarding, ongoing coaching, and a collaborative team of SLPs, while making a tangible, daily difference for students.What Makes This Role DistinctUnlike a district-employed SLP or an independent contractor, you will:Be employed, trained, and clinically supervised by EmpatSpeechFollow EmpatSpeech's curriculum, documentation standards, and service delivery modelsServe students within a school setting alongside school staff, educators, and administratorsAct as a professional bridge, representing EmpatSpeech's standards while building trust with school partnersParticipate in EmpatSpeech professional development, peer consultation, and quality reviewsKey ResponsibilitiesClinical Service DeliveryConduct comprehensive speech-language evaluations using EmpatSpeech-approved assessment protocolsDevelop individualized treatment plans aligned to EmpatSpeech's curriculum framework and each student's IEP goalsDeliver individual and small-group therapy sessions (in-person, on campus) with fidelity to EmpatSpeech's evidence-based approachesImplement culturally and linguistically responsive practices for diverse student populationsCollect and analyze session data to monitor progress and adjust treatment accordinglySchool Community IntegrationBuild and maintain collaborative, professional relationships with teachers, special education coordinators, school psychologists, administrators, and familiesParticipate in IEP meetings, student support team meetings, and school-based collaboration as a representative of EmpatSpeechCommunicate effectively with school staff about student progress while maintaining FERPA compliance and EmpatSpeech confidentiality standardsNavigate situations where school expectations and EmpatSpeech clinical standards may differ - escalating to EmpatSpeech supervision when neededServe as a visible, trusted presence in the school buildingDocumentation & ComplianceComplete all clinical documentation in EmpatSpeech's designated system within required timelinesMaintain compliance with IDEA, state special education regulations, and EmpatSpeech quality standardsEnsure all services are documented in accordance with IEP mandates and EmpatSpeech record-keeping protocolsParticipate in EmpatSpeech data reviews, outcome reporting, and quality improvement processesProfessional Development & Team ParticipationAttend all required EmpatSpeech training, onboarding modules, and continuing education sessionsEngage in regular supervision with EmpatSpeech Clinical SupervisorContribute to peer consultation, team calls, and EmpatSpeech community of practicePursue ongoing professional development in alignment with ASHA and EmpatSpeech standardsRequired QualificationsMaster's degree (MS or MA) in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language PathologyCertificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA or CCC in active pursuitCurrent, valid SLP licensure (NM, CA, TX, or MO strongly preferred)School-based or pediatric clinical experience (practicum or post-graduate)Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environmentStrong organizational and documentation skillsCommitment to culturally responsive, equity-centered practicePreferred Qualifications2+ years of school-based SLP experience post-graduationExperience working with diverse student populations, including ELL studentsFamiliarity with IDEA, IEP processes, and special education lawBilingual or multilingual skills (Spanish strongly valued)Experience with third-party or contracted service delivery in educational settingsWhat EmpatSpeech OffersCompensation & BenefitsCompetitive salary commensurate with experienceHealth, dental, and vision benefitsPaid time off and holidaysCEU reimbursement and ASHA dues supportMalpractice and professional liability coverageSupport & DevelopmentDedicated EmpatSpeech clinical supervisorStructured onboarding and curriculum trainingRegular peer consultation and team callsClear escalation pathways for school conflictsCareer growth within EmpatSpeech's growing network
