Vice President of Equity and Student Services

About The PositionIn this role you will serve as the top equity and student affairs officer, providing leadership for the mission, vision, and strategic goals of the College. With a strong commitment to access, equity, and inclusion you will plan, implement, and evaluate student programs and proactive diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives in support of the College's strategic plan and the state's goals on cultural competence. You will champion student success and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to develop and assess innovative, inclusive programs that address the needs of the District's diverse populations, with a focus on closing the achievement gap. You will advance cultural competence through engaging faculty, staff, and students to foster a welcoming and inclusive campus culture. This position serves as a member of the executive team.Essential DutiesProvide strategic, innovative leadership in the planning, implementation, assessment, and improvement of diverse, equitable, and inclusive student services programs.Provide ultimate oversight for student programs and services such as student records, career planning, student life and government, financial aid, high school programs, student basic needs, and integrated equity programs.Develop strategies, policies, and programs in collaboration with college-wide partners to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion.Engage with internal and external stakeholders to offer integrated programming and work closely with Instruction to create a supportive, cohesive, integrated environment.Lead, manage, and participate in the continued evaluation and improvement of college-wide programs and services through assessment and a focus on industry best practices.Engage with the community and cultivate relationships with community members, leaders, school districts, businesses, and non-profits.Manage and supervise faculty and staff, recruiting, selecting, and retaining equity-minded teams.Build collaborative relationships with faculty and staff bargaining units and ensure compliance with collective bargaining agreements.Oversee Title-IX, the student code of conduct, and any discipline resulting from code violations as the student conduct administrator.Partner with the executive team to provide leadership for the College accreditation process.Develop and manage a comprehensive student services division budget that aligns institutional priorities and ensures responsible fiscal stewardship.Collaborate with other senior leaders on strategic issues and communicate equity and student services initiatives and concerns with all levels of the College community.Minimum QualificationsMaster's degree in educational leadership, business management, organizational development, public administration, or a related field.Five (5) years of post-secondary management experience in student services and/or institutional equity leadership, including at least three (3) at the director level or higher.Experience leading equity-based programming in higher education, including developing and leading an institution-wide equity initiative.Preferred QualificationsDoctorate degree from an accredited program.Leadership experience in a unionized environment.Experience coordinating a Title-IX program.Experience partnering with and building community networks.Experience in working with accrediting bodies.Working ConditionsWork is typically performed in a normal office environment while sitting at a computer terminal. Work may require travel to off-campus locations.Salary PlacementThe salary range listed above applies to the 2025-2026 fiscal year. Initial salary placement will be based on years of applicable education, full-time equivalent experience, and other job-related qualifications at the sole discretion of the College and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws.BenefitsMt.
