SR. BACKEND ENGINEER

Position Title: Sr. Backend EngineerLocation: Remote Duration: ContractAs a Sr. Backend Engineer, candidate will be responsible for building and maintaining robust data pipelines and ETL processes that power analytics and reporting across programs. Candidate will also develop and optimize complex SQL queries to support large-scale educational data analysis and take responsibility for creating design specifications, unit testing, and preparing technical documentation. Candidate will ensure relationships with product, research, and program teams are professional and meet expectations.The Sr. Backend Engineer, will design, develop and implement solutions, based on a set of standards and processes which establish consistency across the enterprise data, reduce risk, and promote efficiencies in support of the organization’s goals and objectives. The ideal candidate will have designed, developed and implemented serverless software solutions in support of data quality and automation. The candidate will also possess technical skills and experience in the data management domain that will help their ability to design and develop elegant and efficient data processes and systems.Team: This team is working on internal user-facing products/programs mainly used by data scientists and research for modeling and analysis. The team operates within a continues delivery approach focusing on continuous learning, stakeholder partnership and continuous improvement. The hiring manager is looking for highly motivated engineers with solid communication skills that can operate with minimal guidance. Someone that can hit the ground running and is comfortable engaging with their teams remotely.Profile: Must have strong Python, TypeScript and JavaScript (ES6). This role is for a backend engineer who will also support infrastructure and DevOps needs, including CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (CDK/CloudFormation), containerization, and cloud automation.
