Structural EngineerLocation: Northwest U.S. / CanadaEligible Locations: AK, ID, MT, OR, WA, WY, or CanadaDuration: 6 MonthsRate: $34/hr on W2Position SummaryWe are seeking a Structural Engineer to support structural engineering analysis and design activities for industrial and advanced manufacturing facilities. The successful candidate will work under general supervision while developing independent engineering judgment, technical skills, and knowledge of structural design practices.The role will involve structural analysis and design of traditional steel and concrete structures, application of U.S. building codes, calculation checking, quality control, and coordination with senior engineers and project teams.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering.Engineer in Training (EIT) certification required.2+ years of structural engineering experience.Experience with U.S. building codes, including:IBCASCE 7ACIAISCExperience designing and analyzing traditional steel and concrete structures.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.Must currently reside in AK, ID, MT, OR, WA, WY, or Canada.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering or Master's degree in Structural Engineering.Experience with structural engineering analysis software.Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam.Experience with semiconductor industrial facilities.Experience with general industrial facilities.Experience with lateral analysis and design for wind and seismic loads.ResponsibilitiesPerform conventional aspects of structural engineering analysis and design under general supervision.Develop engineering judgment in the independent evaluation, selection, and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.Apply structural engineering principles to assigned projects.Develop knowledge of lateral analysis and design, including wind and seismic requirements.Apply applicable provisions of U.S. building codes.Perform structural calculations and calculation checking.Review your own work for accuracy, completeness, and quality.Take ownership of assigned structural scope and deliver work according to schedule, budget, and quality requirements.Manage workload and meet project commitments.Define assigned scope and develop an understanding of required level of effort.Identify potential scope changes and escalate them to the Structural Lead.Recognize when additional guidance is needed and proactively communicate with senior engineers.Work in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner with strong attention to detail.Collaborate with engineers and multidisciplinary project teams.
