The RN will support patients requiring medical-surgical care, telemetry monitoring, orthopedic care, oncology treatment, neurological rehabilitation, post-operative recovery, and progressive care services.Skills/Experience:The Med-Surg RN shall be responsible for:Patient assessments and symptom managementMedication administrationIV therapy and fluid replacementTelemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm observationAdmissions, discharges, and internal/external transfersInterdisciplinary team coordinationDelegating to assistive personnelElectronic medical record documentationPatient transportEmergency response proceduresCentral line careHeparin drip management and coagulation bridgingChest tube and drainage tube managementFoley catheter and ostomy careWound care and wound vacuum therapyPain managementPre-operative and post-operative nursing careBlood product administrationOncology and chemotherapy-related symptom managementRehabilitation and neurological care supportMonitoring for sepsis, respiratory complications, cardiac conditions, and other acute care conditionsParticipation in quality improvement activities and staff meetingsRequirementsGraduation from a school of professional nursing accredited by ACEN or CCNECurrent license from the Ohio Board of Nursing or current multi-state license from a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) stateCurrent CPR certification through the American Heart AssociationCurrent Basic Life Support (BLS) certificationMinimum of two (2) years of direct patient care experience within the last three (3) yearsExperience in acute care medical-surgical nursing preferredAbility to interpret telemetry and cardiac monitoringAbility to speak, read, write, and understand English fluentlyDemonstrated competency in electronic health record documentationCompletion of all required VA mandatory training and credentialing requirementsAbility to work days, nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays as scheduledAbout MedasourceHere at Medasource, the heartbeat of healthcare meets boundless opportunities!
