Senior Property Accountant
We are seeking a detail-oriented and driven Senior Property Accountant to oversee a broad range of property accounting functions. The ideal candidate is honest, dependable, and self-motivated—with the initiative to take full ownership of their work from start to finish. Strong written and verbal communication skills, a thorough and collaborative approach, and a commitment to accuracy are essential.Proficiency in Excel is required. Additional qualifications include time management skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat. This position primarily utilizes Rent Manager (commercial property accounting software) and AvidXchange (online payables platform); experience with these or similar real estate accounting systems is preferred. THIS IS A 100% IN-OFFICE POSITION.Responsibilities include the following: Manage general accounting functions and month-end close processes (A/R, A/P, GL)Provide guidance & support to property accountants as neededPrepare timely and accurate monthly financial reports for assigned propertiesAnalyze monthly financial variance reportsPerform bank reconciliations, prepare journal entries, and review general ledger activityAssist in preparing annual property budgetsCalculate CAM estimates based on lease structuresAssist with annual and interim CAM reconciliationsProcess tenant ledger adjustments as requestedProcess monthly rent charges and research any discrepancies Research vendor and tenant inquiries as neededLease admin: review and input leases and amendments into the accounting system; develop familiarity with leasing and accounting-related tenant communicationsCollaborate with property managers on tenant and vendor communicationsReview accounting setup and structure for new entitiesSupport acquisition and disposition processes as needed, including transaction accounting and coordination with escrow, legal, and other third-party providersEnsure quarterly debt compliance packages are submitted timely and accurately on numerous mortgage debt obligations
