Claims Advocate
Job Summary: Our Legal & Claims Practice is comprised of widely-respected industry experts who work in tandem with CAC's brokers to provide expertly-constructed insurance. As a Claims Advocate, you will proactively manage claims and achieve favorable claim resolutions for clients of CAC's Financial Lines, Cyber, and Transactional Liability Practices, to include the following lines of coverage: public and private D&O, E&O, employment practices, cyber, fiduciary, crime, kidnap and ransom, and representations and warranties. Duties & Responsibilities: Provide coverage and wording advice to clients and brokers as appropriateTimely and accurately report new claims and circumstances while proactively identifying potential coverage issues that may impact resolutionAssist with obtaining insurer consent for counsel and settlementsAssist with analysis of reservation-of-rights letters from insurers and drafting of coverage argumentsFacilitate client meetings and conference calls with insurersAdvocate aggressively on clients' behalf when coverage disputes ariseLeverage business relationships and deploy CAC executive leadership as necessaryMaintain up-to-date records, including online file maintenanceWork closely with producers and broking colleagues to provide claim information for business renewals, client presentations and RFPsDevelop and maintain strong working relationships with clients and insurer claim representatives Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree required (paralegal certification or law degree is beneficial)5+ years of relevant work experience requiredRisk management designations helpful (RPLU, CPCU, etc.)Strong multitasking & time management skillsExcellent negotiation, communication and relationship management skillsStrong analytical skillsUnderstanding of claims and litigation trends affecting the D&O and EPL marketAbility to engage with and present confidently to clients and prospects, as well as internallyAbility to identify client needs and provide solutions to address those needsAbility to set realistic client expectations and deliver in a time-sensitive environment Click here for some insight into our culture!
