Going Above & Beyond: Our goal is to exceed expectations Job Summary: The Shop Tech is a full-time, non-exempt role with benefits. The Shop Tech role is essential to our shop floor and is responsible for executing tasks in order to meet job specifications of Customer’s requests. Successful candidates will possess a high degree of willingness, problem solving, interpersonal skills for teamwork and professionalism. Responsibilities encompass support for the shop floor and carrying out the direction of team leads. This role is for an individual who is self-motivated, is astute at following directions and enjoys the striving for and achieving the satisfaction of a job well done. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities as management may deem necessary from time to time Use hand tools for measuring, cutting, assembly, and finishing of patterns, fixtures, molds, etc. Variety of shop operations including painting, mechanical assembly, wood working, and welding Read simple drawings and CAD data for crates, stock, and assemblies interpreting and applying the information. Set up, operate, and adjust a variety of wood & metal working machines such as bandsaws, mills, and lathes to cut and shape blocks, parts, and patterns, according to specifications. Perform handling of materials & jobs for unloading, crating, and machine set-up. Work safely, following all safety rules. Some Short driving errands to customers and vendors. Shop cleaning Special projects, other tasks & assistance as assigned by Supervisor. Requirements: Mechanical — Knowledge of wood & metal working machines & tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance. Shop - Pattern & machine shop skills or aptitude. Mathematics — Knowledge of shop mathematics, algebra, geometry, and their applications. Interpersonal Skills – Ability to interact positively with others, willing to listen, accept & follow instruction & ask questions. Professional manner - present self professionally to vendors and/or customers Attention to detail to ensure tasks are completed thoroughly and correctly. Experience: Some shop experience is preferred, some forklift driving experience preferred Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Must be 18 years of age or older. Candidates must be available to work 7AM-4:30PM Monday through Friday Hold a valid Drivers License.
