Section Manager Quality

Location: East Chicago, INCleveland-Cliffs has an immediate opportunity for a Quality Section Manager at our Indiana Harbor facility. This role provides leadership for safety, quality, and environmental compliance while overseeing key quality system functions, including A2LA and IATF requirements. The Quality Section Manager supports product and process improvement through metallurgical expertise, data analysis, and collaboration with operations, engineering, maintenance, and customers. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background in materials or metallurgical engineering, extensive manufacturing experience, and proven communication and leadership skills in a fast-paced industrial environment.Summary of Responsibilities:Ensure compliance and provide leadership for safety, quality, and environmental standards.Possess the ability to work effectively within a team environment, utilizing clear and effective communication skills.Provide metallurgical and technical support for product and process improvement through data analysis, problem solving, expertise in area of responsibility, metallurgical and mechanical concepts, and knowledge of customer operations and markets.Meet with representatives of customers/processors to provide innovative solutions to quality and reliability issues as well as provide customers with timely warranty solutions.Drive reduction and velocity in management of material flow through disposition of distressed material in accordance with customer, internal standards, and business imperatives.Recommend new technology to satisfy changing customer and marketplace demands.Lead team in the order design & order entry systems - approving incoming new orders, setting product capabilities, changing/improving existing order process designs, creating/following product trials.Maintain Quality System, including A2LA accreditation and IATF certifications.Provide technical solutions to internal and external customers by understanding manufacturing and product capability.Work closely with operations, engineering, maintenance, and other technical resources to drive results.Other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications:A Bachelor's degree in Metallurgical or Material Science or a similar Technical Engineering Degree.6years or more of experience handling manufacturing processes.Interpersonal skills and the ability to operate effectively within a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.Proven communication (verbal and written), analytical, organizational, and time management skills.Preferred Qualifications:2 Years of previous managerial experience in an industrial or related environment.10years or more of experience handling manufacturing processes.Experience in materials manufacturing, preferably metals.5 years of product inspection and knowledge of external customer requirements.Ability to drive results across multiple departments.Relocationassistancemay be considered for highly qualified candidates from outside the local area.Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
