Position Overview: The Grocery Team Member will be responsible for supporting the Grocery team by receiving and preparing products, maintaining the grocery floor and displays, and selling products. This role involves breaking down deliveries, stocking shelves, and ensuring a positive company image through excellent customer service. All tasks must be performed in accordance with team and store Standard Operating Procedures.Key Responsibilities: Product Management: Ensure fresh and appealing displays by keeping cases and shelves clean and well-stocked. Perform front-facing, code checking, rotating, and removing out-of-date products. Stock and clean grocery shelves, bulk bins, frozen, and dairy cases. Quality Control: Monitor and prevent spoilage, communicate waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisors. Maintain back stock in good order. Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service by addressing needs promptly and effectively, modeling suggestive selling techniques, answering phones, and paging courteously. Operational Support: Assist with sampling programs, periodic inventory checks, and complete necessary worksheets for spoilage, sampling, temperature, and sweep. Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned, ensure accuracy of signs and pricing, and report safety hazards. Compliance: Follow established procedures for Weights and Measures, health and sanitation, and safe work practices. Maintain a clean and sanitary working and shopping environment, and ensure equipment is maintained according to The After Market standards.Qualifications: Interest in data analysis, statistics, or related fields. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; knowledge of data mining tools is a plus. High attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Passion for people, food, and The After Market's mission. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with a sense of urgency.Experience: No prior retail experience required. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Ability to stand/walk for 6-8 hours in an 8-hour workday. Ability to perform motions such as bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching. Exposure to temperatures ranging from 90F. Ability to work in a wet and cold environment. Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Ability to use tools and equipment, including box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
