LVN / LPN Correctional HealthcareLocation: SeaTac, WA Employment Type: Full-TimePosition SummaryWe are seeking a Licensed Vocational Nurse / Licensed Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN) to provide healthcare services within a federal correctional environment in SeaTac, WA. This role supports a diverse inmate population and requires strong clinical judgment, professionalism, and the ability to work respectfully with individuals from varied cultural, regional, racial, and ethnic backgrounds.The LVN/LPN provides direct patient care under the supervision of medical providers and ensures compliance with Bureau of Prisons and institutional healthcare standards.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide direct nursing care in accordance with legal, ethical, and institutional standardsPerform duties within scope of LVN/LPN licensureAdminister medications (oral, intradermal, subcutaneous, intramuscular)Assist with medication distribution (pill line)Monitor patient response to treatmentPerform venipuncture and collect laboratory specimensConduct diagnostic testing (EKG, visual acuity testing, lab prep)Maintain accurate clinical documentation and logsScreen lab results and notify providers of abnormal valuesSupport chronic care clinics (hypertension, diabetes, asthma)Initiate emergency care when requiredMaintain infection control and sharps safety standardsProtect patient confidentiality and privacyOperate EKG and laboratory equipmentObserve and report behavioral or mental health concernsProvide first reminder, basic care, and injury guidanceAssist with administrative duties as neededQualificationsCurrent, unrestricted LVN/LPN license in Washington StateAbility to work safely and professionally in a correctional settingKnowledge of chronic disease managementUnderstanding of mental health screening basicsStrong documentation and communication skillsAbility to maintain confidentiality and professionalismCPR/BLS certification preferredWork EnvironmentFederal correctional healthcare settingDiverse inmate populationStructured institutional environmentTeam-based medical support
