Remote Provider Coder

We are seeking a Medical Coder to join our team at the HIMPros!Location: RemoteSchedule: Part-time and Full-time opportunities are availableResponsibilitiesProvide excellent coding for medical procedures and evaluations in primary care and other specialties. Assign correct codes for diagnoses, treatments, and procedures based on detailed documentation, following official guidelines. Use the CPT and HCPCS coding rules accurately. Use an encoder tool to check and confirm codes and review coverage guidelines. Keep a 95% accuracy rate, as checked by quality reviews. Meet the production goals set for the project. Keep up-to-date with coding guidelines for physician services in both outpatient and inpatient settings, following CMS rules. Use all available coding resources to ensure accuracy in all services. May also involve teaching providers about coding. Adhere to the ethical coding standards set by the American Health Information Management Association and follow official guidelines. Follow HIPAA laws and regulations. Requirements:Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Certified Professional Coding position. Active certified coder certification through AHIMA or AAPC required: CPC, CCS-P ( Certified Professional Coder, Certified Coding Specialist- Physician Based), RHIA or RHIT Pass a pre-employment coding exam.
