DevOps Engineer

Position: DevOps/Automation Infrastructure EngineerLocation: Brussels, BelgiumDuration: Long termLanguages: EnglishJob Description:Design, maintain, and improve the client’s Kubernetes infrastructure, both in the cloud (e.g. Azure) and on-premises (Rancher);Design, implement, and maintain the build/release infrastructure;Develop and improve deployments with Terraform, Ansible, PowerShell, Python, and other scripting technologies used, etc.;Technical review, assurance, and design for deployment;Establish and maintain procedures for the deployment of information systems;Plan, test, and develop infrastructure and application automation;Improve the existing Configuration Management (based on Puppet) infrastructure (secrets management, split of code repository, hub-and-spoke architecture, etc.);Support day-to-day activities of deploying servers and applications;Support continuous integration and continuous delivery;Monitor and maintain the supporting configuration management infrastructure.RequirementsUniversity degree in IT or relevant discipline, combined with a minimum of 9 years of relevant working experience in IT;Minimum 9 years of experience in ICT (e.g. as an infrastructure engineer, system administrator, software engineer, infrastructure engineer, DevOps engineer, etc.);Minimum 5 years of experience with systems and IT operations;Minimum 5 years of experience in Linux/Unix Administration, preferably Red Hat;Minimum 3 years of experience in creating and adapting Technical Designs both at a High Level as a Detailed level, that lead to implementation (i.e. including monitoring characteristics, backup and restore, applying/devising security hardening, CIS guidelines, etc. );Minimum 3 years of experience with documenting technical specifications of solutions, in terms of infrastructure design material (deployment views, server and network specifications, etc.) as well as devising and documenting operations procedures;Minimum 2 years of experience in working with Kubernetes;Good knowledge of Kubernetes, engineering, deployment, configuration, management, and troubleshooting of Kubernetes clusters (e.g.: rke, rancher, k3d, or k3s);Good knowledge in creating Technical Designs both at a High Level and a Detailed level, that leads to implementation by other team members;Good knowledge of implementation and configuration of Windows Server and/or Linux server operating systems, including the interaction with Infrastructure at large ( File shares with CIFS/SMB and NFS, secure LDAP integration, Public Key Certificates, Firewall rules, Load Balancing, Service accounts, etc);Good knowledge of Implementing Security hardening for Containers, Operating Systems, and/or Applications, including the usage of well-known frameworks ( e.g. CIS guidelines);Good Knowledge in the configuration of application servers to make use of the different authentication systems, encryption in traffic, file access, and database access as well as the ability to troubleshoot all of the mentioned components individually and as a set;The following certifications are required: CKA or CKAD, Kubernetes (e.g. Certified Kubernetes Administrator, Certified Kubernetes Application Developer, etc.);
