Technical Engineer IV

Lighthouse Technology Services is partnering with our client to fill their Technical Engineer IV position! This is a 12+ month contract and will be remote in the United States. This role will be a W2 employee of Lighthouse Technology Services. No C2C or subcontracting arrangements will be considered.What You'll Be Doing:Design, implement, and manage Checkpoint and/or Palo Alto firewall infrastructure across the enterprise environmentBuild and maintain firewall rule sets, ensuring proper segmentation, access control, and security policy enforcementArchitect and support Azure network and firewall solutions, including virtual network gateways and cloud-based security controlsCollaborate with technology management, senior engineers, and support teams to design and execute technical solutionsCoordinate with vendors and internal teams to research, test, and implement new or expanded network security systemsMentor and coach less experienced engineers, reviewing their documentation, proposals, and proposed changesAnalyze routing and network traffic patterns, applying strong understanding of VGP and related protocols to optimize firewall operationsEnsure adherence to risk, regulatory, and internal control standards, escalating risk-related issues to management as neededMaintain a strong working knowledge of vendor technologies, industry best practices, and evolving networking standardsWhat You'll Need to Have:8+ years of combined education and/or work experience in systems design, engineering, or infrastructure architectureHands-on experience with Checkpoint Firewall (preferred) or a strong background with other enterprise firewalls such as Palo AltoProven experience with firewall rule engineering, network segmentation, and access control policy managementStrong understanding of Azure networking and firewall technologies, including virtual network gatewaysSolid understanding of routing, virtual gateway protocol (VGP), and core networking conceptsEnterprise-level experience within a highly-regulated industry such as banking, healthcare, or defenseDemonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into structured, high-quality technical implementationsStrong communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and mentor junior engineersCISSP, Checkpoint Firewall, or Aviatrix certifications are a plus but not requiredPay Range: $80-88/hrQuestions about any of our jobs?
