You will support the DHS mission by building and maintaining secure, scalable applications that facilitate everything from immigration services to national cybersecurity monitoring. This role sits at the intersection of modern web development and federal security standards, requiring a developer who can move comfortably between front-end UI and back-end logic. ### Key Responsibilities \* Front-End Development: Design and implement responsive, accessible (Section 508 compliant) user interfaces using React.js and TypeScript. \* Back-End API Services: Develop and optimize RESTful APIs and microservices using Python (FastAPI or Flask) to handle high-volume data ingestion. \* DevSecOps Integration: Collaborate with security teams to integrate automated scanning (SAST/DAST) into CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitLab CI). \* Cloud Infrastructure: Support the deployment of applications within AWS GovCloud or Azure Government environments using containerization (Docker/Kubernetes). \* Data Management: Interface with PostgreSQL or NoSQL databases to ensure data integrity and performant querying for mission-critical reports. ### Mandatory Requirements \* US Citizenship: Must be a US Citizen to meet federal security requirements. \* Residency: Must be based in the Washington, DC metro area for hybrid on-site requirements at DHS headquarters or component offices (e.g., CISA, ICE, or TSA). \* Technical Stack: \* 5+ years of professional experience with React.js. \* 5+ years of professional experience with Python. \* Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field. ### Preferred Skills \* Experience with Material UI or USWDS (U.S. Web Design System). \* Familiarity with Agile/SAFe methodologies. \* Knowledge of NIST 800-53 security controls and FedRAMP compliance.
