Project Manager – Public Works ConstructionLocation: Hayward, CA 94545 Compensation: $130,000–$145,000 base + bonus + benefits (Candidates up to $165,000 may be considered depending on experience)Position OverviewWe are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee public works construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. Projects include roads, underground utilities, infrastructure improvements, site development, bridges, and other municipal work.This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, compliance requirements, and client relationships while ensuring successful field execution in coordination with superintendents and field teams.Experience Requirements5–10+ years of construction project management experience3–5+ years specifically in public works constructionProven experience with:Municipal and public agency projectsState and/or federal contractsPrevailing wage complianceUtility coordination and permittingMulti-phase construction schedulingPublic agency inspection and compliance processesTechnical KnowledgeStrong understanding of:Public bidding processes and government contract administrationRFIs, submittals, change orders, and inspection workflowsStormwater, environmental, and ADA compliance requirementsSite development including grading, paving, concrete, and traffic controlCost control, estimating, and CPM scheduling principlesSoftware Experience (Preferred – At Least One)ProcorePrimavera P6Key ResponsibilitiesManage projects from award through final closeoutDevelop and maintain project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controlsCoordinate subcontractors, suppliers, and field operations teamsOversee procurement, materials management, and contract complianceServe as primary point of contact for owners, public agencies, engineers, and inspectorsPrepare and manage pay applications, cost reports, change orders, and project reportingSupport field execution in partnership with superintendents and foremenEnsure compliance with OSHA, environmental, safety, and quality standardsCertificationsValid Driver’s License requiredOSHA 30 preferredBenefitsHealth & Dental Insurance (employee coverage)401(k) with company matchGas cardCar allowance or company vehicle
