Hybrid – Springfield, MA (Onsite 3 days/week) | Contract to Hire
Our longtime client, an Employer of Choice in New England, is seeking an Application Production Support Analyst to support complex, data-driven business applications in a fast-paced operational environment.
This individual will be responsible for troubleshooting production issues, analyzing application data, identifying root causes, and supporting the ongoing stability of critical business systems. The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on SQL / T-SQL skills, and a background supporting live applications, batch processes, and system integrations in a Windows-based environment.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity based in Springfield, MA, with an onsite expectation of three days per week.
Key Responsibilities
Investigate and resolve production application issues by analyzing system behavior, SQL data, logs, batch jobs, and related dependencies
Use SQL / T-SQL to research data issues, validate records, identify root causes, and support issue resolution
Support and troubleshoot batch processes, scheduled tasks, file-based workflows, and application integrations
Work closely with internal teams, business users, and third-party vendors to diagnose issues and coordinate timely resolution
Assist with application upgrades, patches, fixes, and maintenance activities
Participate in testing and validation of system changes to ensure production readiness
Document incidents, resolutions, known issues, and support procedures in a clear and organized manner
Monitor recurring issues and proactively identify opportunities to improve system stability and support efficiency
Escalate issues appropriately and communicate status, impact, and next steps to stakeholders
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, STEM, or equivalent practical experience
Strong hands-on experience with SQL or T-SQL in a production support or application support environment
Experience troubleshooting data-driven application issues, including identifying data anomalies, failed processes, and integration-related problems
Experience supporting batch jobs, scheduled tasks, file transfers, or automated workflows
Hands-on experience with PowerShell for scripting, support automation, or operational troubleshooting
Experience working in a Windows-based environment
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through complex issues methodically
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently in a support-driven environment
Strong written documentation and verbal communication skills
Professional, collaborative approach with a strong sense of ownership and follow-through
High level of integrity, discretion, and accountability
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting vendor-supplied business applications
Experience with application logs, service monitoring, and operational health checks
Familiarity with production support processes, incident response, and root-cause analysis
Experience working with integrations, flat files, or data exchange processes
Exposure to retail, distribution, supply chain, warehouse, or other high-volume operational environments
