Systems Administrator (Windows, Unix, Linux)

The ideal candidate will ensure the stability, security, and performance of enterprise systems while providing reliable technical support and implementing best practices across diverse IT environments.Key ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain Windows Server (2016, 2019, 2022) and Linux systems (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS, or similar)Administer Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and Linux user/group permissionsImplement and manage data backup, recovery, and disaster recovery processesApply operating system patches, updates, and maintain system tools and utilitiesMonitor and analyze system performance, generating regular status and error reportsDevelop and maintain detailed procedures for installation, configuration, and maintenanceManage and verify security controls, including firewalls, antivirus, and intrusion detection systemsExecute system upgrades, configuration changes, and data archival as neededCollaborate with network, application, and database teams to ensure system availability and scalabilityTroubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues efficientlyProvide after-hours on-call support on a rotational basisRequirementsProficiency in Windows Server (2016-2022) and Linux administration (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS)Experience managing Active Directory and Linux user/group environmentsKnowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, HTTP/S)Hands-on experience with virtualization (VMware, Hyper-V, KVM)Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or PythonUnderstanding of DoD system hardening, security compliance, and cybersecurity best practicesStrong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skillsActive DoD Secret clearance (minimum)Must meet DoD 8570/8140 IAT-II certification requirementsWillingness to travel up to 25%, including possible OCONUS assignmentsRelevant certifications such as Microsoft Windows Server Hybrid Administrator Associate, Azure Administrator Associate, or AWS Cloud PractitionerPreferred QualificationsExperience managing cloud and hybrid infrastructures (AWS, Azure)Knowledge of databases such as SQL Server, MySQL, or PostgreSQLFamiliarity with automation and configuration management tools (Ansible, SCCM, Puppet, Chef)Understanding of ITIL processes and cybersecurity frameworksExperience with Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) version 6.0BenefitsAt RMC, we're committed to your career growth!
