We are looking for an Embedded Software Development Intern (Summer 2025) who is interested in gaining real-world experience in a dynamic, collaborative environment at our Austin, TX location.As an Embedded Software Development Summer Intern, you will share in the satisfaction of delivering industry-leading products and solutions that help provide our customers with safer, more environmentally efficient manufacturing processes. We’ve revolutionized the control industry by extending digital information technologies to the plant floor of process manufacturers, including oil and gas, refining, chemical, life sciences, and alternative energy companies.In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:Work in an Agile Software Development environment as a member of a scrum team.Develop embedded software related to Communications, Control, I/O, and other areas of the DeltaV Process Control Systems.Implement internal tools, prototypes of new functionality, or other projects related to Emerson product development.Create architectures and software designs for assigned projects. Develop manual and automation tests.Create user and internal documentation for assigned projects.Who You Are: You stay on top of new technologies and look for ways to apply it. You engage in collaborative planning and constantly look to improve your team and deliver results.For This Role, You Will Need:Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university entering either their Senior or Graduate year.Pursuing a degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science or Electrical Engineering.Legal authorization to work in the United States. Sponsorship will not be provided for this position.Experience and/or knowledge in the development of embedded real-time firmware/software in C/C++Experience and/or knowledge of real-time embedded operating systems (QNX, Linux or similar)Experience and/or knowledge using object-oriented design techniques.
