Job Description Job Opportunity: ICU Registered Nurse (RN)Our organization is in search of a skilled ICU Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver exceptional and compassionate care to critically ill patients within a hospital's intensive care unit located in Sioux City, IA. As an ICU RN, you will be integral in providing complex bedside care to patients with high acuity, closely monitoring their health status, swiftly responding to any changes, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.Key ResponsibilitiesConduct thorough assessments and develop personalized care plans for patients requiring intensive treatment.Continuously monitor patients, including those on ventilators and those experiencing complex cardiac issues, multi-system organ failure, post-operative complications, sepsis, and other critical conditions.Operate advanced medical equipment such as ventilators, infusion pumps, and cardiac monitors.Titrate vasoactive medications and administer IV therapies and blood products.Adhere to strict ICU protocols and evidence-based practices to ensure patient safety and recovery.Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR).Communicate effectively with physicians, advanced practice providers, respiratory therapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare team members.Participate in rapid response and code events, performing comprehensive head-to-toe assessments.Interpret lab values and diagnostic results, adjusting care plans as necessary based on clinical status.Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during stressful situations.Strictly follow infection control practices, medication safety standards, and hospital policies.Qualifications and SkillsStrong critical thinking and clinical judgment abilities.Capability to remain calm and organized in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.Experience in critical care nursing is preferred.Working ConditionsThis role requires a commitment to high standards of patient care and collaboration within a supportive environment.
