The platform reaches tens of millions of Americans, emphasizing improved health through effective communication.About the Opportunity:The DATABASE ENGINEER II plays a crucial role in supporting the development teams by optimizing SQL Server usage for storage and transaction processing. This position is responsible for enhancing backend database processes, improving legacy code, and designing relational databases to support data handling needs. The role contributes to advancing storage designs and data processing workflows, thereby impacting the efficiency and reliability of the organization’s healthcare engagement platform.Responsibilities:Collaborate with Java development teams during product design and development to optimize SQL Server usageWrite, refine, and optimize T-SQL code for performance, reliability, and maintainabilityAnalyze complex requirements and translate them into efficient backend processesReverse-engineer and improve legacy T-SQL code using modern techniquesDesign and implement relational databases and structures as neededParticipate in developing innovative storage designs and data processing flowsCreate documentation for new and existing codeRequirements:2 to 4+ years of experience as a database engineer or related roleIntermediate to advanced T-SQL expertise including query tuning and optimizationExperience with reporting platforms and translating business needs into efficient T-SQL reportsFamiliarity with SQL Server Administration is a plusETL experience is a plusProficient with SSMS and other MS SQL Server toolsAbility to work with various workflows including agileKnowledge of best practices in database development and coding standardsExperience with source control and workflow ticketing systemsFamiliarity with IDERA SQL Server tools and SQL monitoring tools (e.g., Idera, Solarwinds) is a plusKnowledge of advanced SQL Server features such as service broker, resource governor, temporal tables, query store, Always-On, and stretch database is a plusBachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experienceAbility to work under general supervision and independentlyWillingness to work occasional off-hours or overtime as neededPay Range and Compensation Package:The pay range and compensation package for this role will be determined based on the candidate's experience, skills, and other relevant factors.Benefits & Perks:Remote-first work environment with flexible PTO100% company-paid employee medical, dental, and vision insurance, with contributions toward dependent coverage and life and disability insurance401(k) plan with 4% company match and access to financial advisorsSix weeks of parental leaveStructured onboarding and ongoing training programsPeer-to-peer recognition bonuses and team celebrationsEqual Opportunity Statement: Our client is an equal opportunity employer.
