Job Overview The Training and Development Specialist leads the organizational training efforts for the BVI FLA site. This role is accountable for devising and implementing a comprehensive training strategy that aligns with Business objectives, including identifying training needs, designing, and presenting relevant programs, assessing their impact on employee performance and retention, and developing progression programs for continued growth of the employees. This role requires close collaboration with multiple manufacturing departments to ensure employees are receiving the necessary training to excel in their roles and contribute to the overall success of the company. The Training and Development Specialists responsibilities include enhancing employee skills, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development, and helping to improve performance and increase productivity throughout the organization. The position is also responsible for ensuring the Organization is in compliance with relevant EHS&Q training requirements. Duties - Develop training materials and curricula based on organizational needs - Implement effective adult learning principles in training programs - Utilize Learning Management Systems (LMS) for course delivery and tracking - Collect and analyze data to measure training effectiveness - Collaborate with HR to address employee relations through training initiatives - Incorporate learning technologies such as Adobe Captivate into training modules - Conduct employee evaluations to assess training outcomes - Deliver engaging training sessions through effective public speaking skills - Apply the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) model in training program development Experience - Proven experience in adult education and instructional design - Familiarity with human resources management practices related to training and development - Proficiency in utilizing learning technologies and LMS platforms - Experience with employee relations and evaluation processes - Strong public speaking skills and ability to engage diverse audiences If you are passionate about employee development, possess excellent communication skills, and have a knack for designing impactful training programs, we invite you to apply for the Training Specialist position. NATURE AND SCOPE The incumbent should have experience in a industrial manufacturing setting preferably med device and be comfortable working in a production facility that produces medical biomaterials. The incumbent should have experience developing and managing EHS&Q compliance training programs and performance improvement and progression training programs in heavy industrial manufacturing facilities. This position is accountable for the following end results: Identify and assess current and future training needs through job analysis, career paths, annual performance appraisals, EHS&Q compliance requirements, and consultation with line management Draw an overall or individualized training and development plan that addresses needs and expectations Deploy a wide variety of training methods and formats Develop an appropriate training matrix structure to align with Organizational needs and ensure training documentation is up-to-date and readily accessible by the employee and Supervisors. Conduct effective induction and orientation sessions Monitor and evaluate training program’s effectiveness, success and return on investment; report out on results to management Manage training budget Develop and provide opportunities for ongoing development Resolve any specific problems and tailor training programs as necessary Maintain a keen understanding of training trends, developments and best practices Manage and maintain training records; strengthen record management programs as needed MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS B.S. degree in a related field or equivalent work experience, engineering degree a plus Demonstrated experience as a training leader in an industrial manufacturing setting Proven track record in designing and executing successful training and progression programs Familiarity with a wide range of traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc.) Proven leadership, mentoring, collaboration and influencing skills.
