Hotel Director of Sales
Job description
Director of Sales is responsible for the overall operations of sales and marketing. Emphasis is on attaining the hotel goals of maximum revenue and profit while providing the guest with the highest level of quality service. The development and implementation of the total sales effort of the hotel, including securing new accounts, maintaining existing accounts, and executing sales and marketing strategies. Responsible for creating and managing budget, forecast and execution of revenue strategy. Generates a high profile and quality perception in the market place. Lead the sales effort and team.
Sales Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive sales and revenue strategy to achieve and exceed sales goals.
Prospecting and Client Relationship Management: Proactive prospecting to identify new business and shift business to hotel. Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with current long standing corporate clients, event planners and other key partners.
Event Sales: Drive event and banquet sales by actively promoting our banquet facilities and working closely with event planners. Effectively gather, document and communicate details of event utilizing Delphi.
Team Leadership: Lead, mentor and motivate the sales team to consistently meet and exceed individual and team sales goals
Market Analysis: Stay up-to-date with market trends, competitor activities and customer feedback to identify opportunities and threats in the market
Sales Forecasting: Accurately forecast revenue and prepare annual and monthly sales reports for the executive team.
Marketing Collaboration: Collaborate with the marketing team to create and implement marketing campaigns and promotions to drive sales.
Budget Management: Develop and manage top line revenue budget for hotel in partnership with General Manager.
What it takes to be a Director of Sales:
Minimum of 5 years hotel sales experience
Major hotel brand experience strongly preferred
Market knowledge strongly preferred
Knowledge of Delphi preferred
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Office, Internet
Well organized and detail oriented
Display initiative, perseverance and analytical skills
Effective communication
Professional and ethical
Excellent customer service skills
Quick learner and hard worker
Team player and ability to get along with others
Available to meet guests which may include weekends
Ability to read, write and speak English, with excellent grammar and communication skills (written and verbal)
