Director, EH&S

Job DescriptionThe Director of EH&S is a senior leader responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing environmental, health, and safety programs across the organization. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, promotes a culture of safety, and drives sustainability initiatives. The director collaborates with cross-functional teams to mitigate risks and enhance workplace safety and environmental stewardship.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and execute comprehensive EH&S strategies and policiesEnsure compliance with OSHA, EPA, DOT and other regulatory bodiesConduct risk assessments and lead incident investigationsDrive effective risk assessments and in depth incident investigations for root cause, taking lead on significant cases as neededDevelop and deliver training programs on safety and environmental practicesMonitor and report EH&S performance metrics and KPIsLead emergency preparedness and response planningManage hazardous materials, waste disposal, and pollution prevention programsLiaise with government agencies and external stakeholdersPromote continuous improvement and employee engagement in EH&S initiativesRequired Skills & QualificationsBachelor’s or Master’s degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or related fieldExperience in hazardous waste site remediation, working with environmental consultants10+ years of EH&S experience, with 5+ years in a leadership roleIn-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EH&S regulationsStrong leadership, communication, and analytical skillsExperience with ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001, or similar standardsProficiency in EH&S management systems and reporting toolsPreferred CertificationsCertified Safety ProfessionalCertified Industrial HygienistCertified Hazardous Materials ManagerAbout UsDo you want to work with people who are dedicated to innovation and making the world a better place?
