Tax Director

A global organization is seeking a Tax Director to build and lead its U.S. tax function during a transformative period of growth and integration. This is a highly strategic, high-visibility role designed for a leader who wants to create infrastructure, influence business decisions, and modernize tax operations—not simply maintain the status quo.This is a fully remote opportunity with pre-planned quarterly travel to the Wilmington, DE headquarters. Candidates MUST be located in the Eastern or Central time zones.What You’ll LeadTax Strategy & LeadershipDevelop and execute U.S. tax strategy across a complex domestic and international structureIdentify opportunities for tax optimization while proactively managing risk and complianceServe as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on evolving tax regulations and business impactsTeam Building & Organizational DevelopmentLead, mentor, and scale a U.S.-based tax teamEstablish processes, controls, and workflows that support long-term growthDrive continuous improvement and foster a collaborative, high-performance cultureCompliance & Technical OversightOversee all aspects of federal, state, local, and indirect tax complianceManage international tax reporting obligations including forms tied to foreign operations and cross-border activitiesReview tax accounting, provisions, deferred taxes, disclosures, forecasts, and budgeting activitiesOversee shareholder-related tax calculations and reporting supportTransformation & Process ImprovementHelp design and implement a new tax operating model following organizational growth initiativesPartner with Tax Technology leadership to improve automation, reporting, and scalabilityEvaluate opportunities to transition work from external advisors to internal resourcesEnhance tax systems, reporting structures, and controlsAudit & Cross-Functional PartnershipLead tax audits and regulatory inquiries across multiple jurisdictionsPartner closely with business unit finance leaders, shared services teams, auditors, and international tax groupsTranslate complex tax matters into practical guidance for non-tax stakeholdersWhat We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field requiredCPA strongly preferred; Master’s in Taxation is a plus10–15 years of progressive U.S. tax experience across public accounting and/or industryDeep expertise in tax provisions and tax complianceProven leadership experience managing and developing teamsExperience with CorpTaxExposure to tax automation, analytics, or process optimization tools preferred
