About the Role
The Shift Leader is one of the most important roles in our restaurant. You are the standard-setter - the person who determines what kind of shift it's going to be the moment you walk in the door. Your emotional consistency, decision-making, and real-time coaching directly shape both the guest experience and our team's growth.
This role is roughly 85-90% operational leadership and 10-15% coaching and development. Every shift, you'll be focused on three things:
Coaching & Training - Leading with our values, developing your team's capacity, and using tools like the Pathway app to guide growth
Protecting the Guest Experience - Modeling CORE 4 (Eye Contact, Smile, Friendly Tone, My Pleasure), winning hearts every day, and recovering quickly when things don't go as planned
Smooth Operations - Owning the flow of your shift across Drive-Thru, Front Counter, Catering, and On-Demand
What You'll Be Responsible For
Leading your assigned shift with full ownership of operations, deployment, and team positioning
Executing food safety, quality standards, and speed of service targets
Running effective pre-shift huddles and communicating clear expectations
Giving in-the-moment coaching using the ESRC model (Expectations, Skills, Resources, Consequences)
Monitoring labor efficiency and identifying operational bottlenecks in real time
Ensuring immediate and generous guest recovery when needed
Holding the team accountable with professionalism and care
Opening or closing at least once per week, with a minimum of 15 hours per week
Developing future leaders through consistent observation and feedback

Experience in a fast-paced food service environment preferred, but not required
Ability to lift and carry 20-40 lbs regularly and stand for extended periods
Availability to open or close at least once per week and work a minimum of 15 hours per week
Reliable transportation and dependable attendance
Willingness to follow Chick-fil-A dress code and standards
