Manufacturing Process Engineer

Job Description Position SummaryBadger State Fab is seeking a Manufacturing / Process Engineer with a strong focus on job quoting, design review, and manufacturability. This role owns the front end of the manufacturing process—reviewing customer prints and CAD models, developing machining and EDM strategies, supporting pricing and quoting decisions, and driving design changes that improve cost, quality, and efficiency. The ideal candidate brings engineering judgment while remaining closely connected to shop execution.Key ResponsibilitiesReview customer prints, CAD models, and specifications for manufacturabilityLead job quoting and estimating, including cycle time analysis, setups, tooling, and laborRecommend and implement design-for-manufacturing (DFM) changesModify or create CAD models to support production requirementsDevelop and support Charmilles Wire EDM processes (fluent use with K6 knowledge)Program and support machining strategies using MastercamSupport CNC machining processes for 3‐axis Haas vertical millsCollaborate with shop personnel to ensure designs are executed efficiently and accuratelyDocument quoting assumptions, processes, and design decisions for repeatabilityProvide technical troubleshooting and process support as neededWork a consistent 40‐hour work week in a temperature‐controlled environmentRequired QualificationsEngineering degree (manufacturing, mechanical, or related field)3–5 years of relevant engineering or manufacturing experienceStrong experience with Charmilles Wire EDMProficiency with MastercamExperience supporting CNC vertical millingFamiliarity with 3‐axis Haas machining centersStrong print interpretation and manufacturing decision‐making skillsPreferred / Plus QualificationsSinker EDM experienceExperience with custom job quoting and estimatingStrong CAD modeling skillsSolid understanding of GD&TExperience supporting low‐volume, high‐mix, or job‐shop manufacturingComfortable acting as the technical owner of jobs from quote through production
