This position is 100% onsite and cannot accommodate telecommute work.Northrop Grumman’s Electronics and Payloads Electromechanical Technology Department is seeking a Structural Design and Analysis Engineer to join our high-performance team. The qualified candidate will initially work closely with senior staff and work with a diverse and talented team of engineers helping to develop, analyze, and test everything from electronic components through hardware and integrated systems in support of a broad range of products and business areas within the Space Systems Sector.The candidate will support the design, analysis, and test of space hardware and associated support equipment for antennas / electro-optical sensors, sensor structures, electronics chassis, circuit card assemblies, modules, and electronic subassemblies and components. The Structural Design and Analysis Engineer will be involved during all phases of program development from concept design through hardware integration and test efforts, with responsibilities ranging from design inputs, completing structural analyses, presenting at design reviews, writing test reports, and helping with product test planning and execution.The qualified candidate will perform mechanical, structural, dynamic, fatigue, fracture analyses, and encompass loads development, stress analysis (static and fatigue), and vibration analysis of metallic and composite structures. This position will work a 9/80 schedule, with every other Friday off.Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: Working closely with senior structural analysis staff to learn internal processes and practices Performing mechanical, structural, dynamic, fatigue, and fracture analyses from small components to large assemblies Preparing Finite Element Models, running associated analyses, preparing reports, and presenting at milestone design reviews Understanding mechanical requirements and environments of space program hardware or subsystems of major satellite programs to assure technical performance is achieved Performing structural analysis and providing feedback to design engineer during the design of MGSE (Manufacturing & Ground Support Equipment) Preparing material and presenting at internal program, customer, and/or supplier technical exchange meetings and formal program milestone reviews Provide technical guidance to programs and engineering teams in structural related activities Ability to maintain a diverse workload, work independently, and collaborate as part of a cross-functional team with other engineers, management and contractors Support design verification and test planning, troubleshoot integration issues, and execute support test campaigns to evaluate and sell off hardware designs Other duties as assigned If this job description reads like it was written specifically for you, consider joining our team!This position can be filled at either a Level 2 or Level 3.Basic Qualificationsfor Level 2: Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2 years of professional experience – OR – Master’s degree with 0 years of professional experience.Must havethe ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with SCI access.
