Nutrition Program ManagerBronxWorks helps individuals and families improve their economic and social well-being. Across our 60+ locations, we provide programs in a variety of service areas, including workforce development, children, youth, families, seniors and homeless prevention.QualificationsBachelor's Degree in Nutrition requiredMaster's Degree in Nutrition a plusRegistered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) requiredServSafe or Food Protection Certificate requiredKnowledge of evidence-based nutrition education curriculum such as SNAP-Ed MyPlate.gov and Cooking Matters, a plusKnowledge of federally funded food programs such as Child Adult Care Food Program a plusKnowledge of NYC Nutrition standards and Department of Homeless Services Nutrition Standards a plusKnowledge of Nutrition Analysis software for recipe development and analysis, and cycle menu development highly desiredExperience developing and implementing professional development trainings, highly desiredDynamic personality and excellent oral and written communication skills, time management and organizational skills are necessaryAbility to manage and prioritize multiple tasksAbility to adapt to changing prioritiesProficiency in Microsoft Office suite and other standard business technology is required.Places value on cultural awareness in a multi-ethnic communityKnowledge of local and regional food systems and healthy food equityProgram Specific ResponsibilitiesReview program menus for variety, cultural appropriation, and compliance with Child Adult Care Food Program, Department of the Aging, Department of Homeless Services, and NYC Food StandardsMenu creation and reviewEnsure program documentation compliance with Child Adult Care Food Program and Department of Homeless Services including site visits, attendance records, income eligibility forms, and food safety standardsComplete nutrition assessments of program menus using nutrition softwareConduct nutritional analysis of menusConduct nutritional education for individuals and groupsProvide nutrition educators with oversight and support of nutrition education workshop facilitation and make any improvement recommendations if necessaryFacilitate nutrition, cooking, and health workshops using evidence informed curriculum for both remote and in person deliveryComplete program outreach and create program outreach materialsPerforms audits of program meal sites for dietary sanitation procedures, with routine sanitation inspections being completed to monitor compliance of state and federal regulationsFacilitate staff development trainings with program meal site staff to ensure adherence to Child Adult Care Food Program and Department of Homeless Services guidelinesConducts periodic research and meet with food vendors for new healthy optionsSupport program evaluation efforts, track progress, maintain detailed documentation of program activities, and enter data into databaseComplete and submit weekly and monthly reportsComplete data entry in multiple systemsPerform other duties as needed alsoSkills/AbilitiesGood communication, interpersonal and organizational skillsGood writing skillsExperience working in multi-cultural settings with diverse populationsAbility to use a computer for prolonged periodsAbility to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 poundsAbility to stand, walk, or sit for long periods of timeAbility to bend and retrieve objects and/or documentsAbility to travel in the boroughs of New York City and its adjacent counties via public transportationAbility to travel for a minimum of 1 mile within a reasonable amount of time and in all types of weather, including inclement weather, if required to conduct home visits and/or field workBronxWorks seeks to build an inclusive organization grounded in respect for differences.
