Senior Accountant Location: Ossining, NY Why This Role Stands Out Join a well-established organization known for its stability and strong leadership Work closely with the Controller in a highly visible role with real impact Gain exposure to the full accounting cycle with meaningful ownership Clear path for growth into an Accounting Manager position Collaborative, professional environment that values accountability and integrity Key Responsibilities Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheet and income statement Maintain the general ledger and oversee day-to-day accounting activities Manage month-end close, including journal entries and account reconciliations Reconcile bank accounts, AR, and other key balance sheet accounts Oversee accounts payable processes, ensuring proper coding and approvals Process payroll and assist with commission reporting Review and reconcile external statements, ensuring accuracy and timely payments Support audit preparation and assist with documentation requests Assist with system maintenance and data accuracy within internal platforms Partner with internal teams to resolve discrepancies and improve processes Provide backup support across the accounting team as needed Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred 3+ years of accounting experience Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting fundamentals High attention to detail with strong organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment Strong communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; ERP system experience a plus
