They're well-capitalized, backed by top-tier investors including Kleiner Perkins, 8VC, and Founders Fund, and positioned as the category's durable leader as competitors have struggled to survive.Role OverviewOur client is hiring a Head of Performance Marketing to own the full marketing function and serve as a true marketing counterpart to their CEO. This role reports directly to the CEO and collaborates closely with the Head of Ops & Growth to grow net new clients, primarily through paid media channels.This isn't a "manage the agency" role. They need someone who lives and breathes Meta, brings sharp consumer psychology to every creative decision, and can build a lean, high-caliber team around them.ResponsibilitiesPaid media at scale — Own Meta end-to-end: budget, bidding, creative testing, analytics. Manage Google. Lead performance strategy across all channels.Creative engine — Build a high-velocity creative system from the ground up. Develop the messages, formats, and visuals that inspire trust and move people to act in a high-stigma, high-consideration category.Performance Funnel - Build the engine that turns interest into action. Deploy consistent messaging across ads and landing pages, then champion what works into the buyer's journey across the website, lifecycle, and sales.Team building — Lead a small, growing team (creative lead, production lead, partnerships/affiliates lead) and hire deliberately: fast when needed, with a high bar always.CEO partnership — Bring ideas to the CEO, not just executions. Be the marketing mind he doesn't yet have in the room.QualificationsHands-on Meta expertise — You have personally owned Meta campaigns at scale: testing, scaling, creative iteration, analytics. Not managed from a distance.DTC scaling track record — You joined a company in the $30M–$250M range and materially grew it. Your experience is recent and earned in the current, harder Meta environment.Consumer psychologist — You understand what motivates and blocks conversion. They don't just test what works — they know why.AI-first operator — You actively use AI to compress creative cycles, sharpen insights, and move faster. More than ChatGPT; you've built impressive workflows.Team leader — You can hire, coach, and when necessary, fire. You know the difference between a great IC and a great leader, and they are the latter.Mission-obsessed — You have a genuine, personal connection to mental health and psychedelic medicine.
