Railcar Mobile Equipment Operator/Conductor 2nd shift

TrinityRail Maintenance Services, Inc. is searching for a talented team player to fill the open position of a 2nd shift Railcar Mobile Equipment Operator/Conductor in our Shell Rock, IA office. Shift hours 2pm-10:30pm. $3,500 sign on bonus to be paid in the first 9 months of hire. As a Mobile Equipment Operator at Trinity, you are responsible for the safe and efficient movement of rail cars within a railroad yard, industrial plant or similar location. What you’ll do: Coordinate activities of train crews and switch-engine crew Manage the makeup or breakup of trains, yard switching, and review train schedules and switching orders Interpret train orders, electronic or manual signals, and railroad rules and regulations Direct team members to move trail cars to fit planned configurations Inspect cars periodically during runs Direct and instruct workers in yard activities Observe yard traffic to determine track availability Set warning signals during emergency stops Exhibit Trinity Core Values and TrinityRail Maintenance Services 3 Ts (take care of our people, trust, and transparency). What you’ll need: Excellent communication and attention to detail Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 75 pounds Work in extreme temperatures and adverse weather conditions Basic math skills and ability to read and comprehend work scopes Dependable, teachable, mechanically inclined Committed to personal safety, quality and productivity High school diploma or equivalent 1 year of experience preferred
