The hours of the training will be based on schedule or will be discussed on your first day of employment.Primary Responsibilities:Greets visitors and patients in person, or communicates by telephone or video conferencing, upholding excellent customer serviceEnters and updates patient demographic and financial information, ensuring the patient is fully registered as early in the process as possibleObtains appropriate applications and forms, confirming signatures are on file. Photocopies/scans documents as neededProvides patients with financial responsibility information and collects patient liabilities, documents amount in the appropriate fields, and balances the cash box dailyWorks with partnering departments (Financial Counseling, Scheduling, Financial Clearance, and clinical areas) to ensure all aspects of the patient's encounter are completed as neededProvides wayfinding instructions and assists with hospital information as requestedCoordinates patient admission needs, bed assignments, and tracking boards where applicableMeets or exceeds audit accuracy standards. Works worklists and error reports timely, and proactively seeks assistance to resolve as neededMay perform other duties upon requestYou'll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear directions on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in.Required Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED (or higher)6+ months of customer service experience in an office/healthcare settingIntermediate level of proficiency with Microsoft Office productsAbility to work 36 hours per week in the following rotating schedule:Week 1 - Sun 7:45am-4:15pm, Wednesday 6:45am-3:15pmWeek 2 - Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday - 6:45am-3:15pmWeek 3 - Wednesday and Thursday 6:45am-3:15pmWeek 4 - Thursday and Friday 6:45am - 3:15pm, Saturday 7:45am-4:15pmMust be 18 years of age OR olderPreferred Qualifications:Experience with electronic medical records systemExperience in a medical office or hospital admitting/registration officeKnowledge of medical terminologySoft Skills:Excellent customer service skillsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work in fast paced environmentsThe sign-on bonus is only available to external candidates. Candidates who are currently working for UnitedHealth Group, UnitedHealthcare or a related entity in a full time, part time or per diem basis ('Internal Candidates') are not eligible to receive a sign on bonus.Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.15 to $28.80 per hour based on full-time employment.
