Education experienceFull Certification in Mild-Moderate Cross Cat., grades K-12,Masters Degree; preferred, but not required, in Counseling, Administration or Special Education.Other Education, Experience, or Certification deemed equivalent by Administration and the Board of EducationEssential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:Maintains confidentiality of information gained through the performance and location of the positionProvides staff with technical assistance in areas such as assessment, curriculum modification, use of materials and equipment, and management of student behaviorReviews screening, AIS procedures, and pre-referral informationConducts staffings to determine if a referral is appropriate action and to develop evaluation plansConducts parent conferences to review pre-referral, referral and evaluation plansCoordinates evaluation process by collecting all of the evaluation reports, conducts the evaluation staffings, and completes evaluation summariesReviews evaluation summaries with parents/guardiansParticipates in conferences with administrators, staff, parents, children, and other concerned parties to formulate recommendations for student placements and provision of servicesPlans and conducts in-service trainingActs as LEA representative for the districtAssists program administrators in preparation of budget and development of program goalsAddresses public to elicit support and explain program objectivesMaintains special service student recordsComplies with policy, procedures, guidelines, regulations, state/local PL94-142 compliance plan and lawDevelops and maintains cooperative communications between the school and parentsDevelops and maintains two-way supportive communication with school staffOther duties as necessary and assigned*This position is a teacher contract plus 10 extra days.This is for the 2026-2027 school year.
