Job DescriptionWe are a fast-growing and dynamic organization seeking a Laboratory Equipment Coordinator to join our Operations team. The Laboratory Equipment Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and performing technical and administrative tasks on a day-to-day basis in support of the lab's research and operational needs. This role coordinates equipment maintenance, works with the in-house facility technician to communicate repairs, maintains inventory, and works on ad hoc projects.Good things are happening at Omeros!Who is Omeros?Omeros is an innovative biotechnology company that discovers, develops, and commercializes first-in-class small-molecule and protein therapeutics for large-market and orphan indications, with particular emphasis on complement-mediated diseases, cancers, and addictive or compulsive disorders. Omeros' pipeline also includes OMS527, a phosphodiesterase 7 inhibitor in clinical development for cocaine use disorder and fully funded by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, as well as a growing portfolio of novel molecular and cellular oncology programs. For more information about Omeros and its programs, visit www.omeros.com.What are your job responsibilities?Works with outside vendors and/or facility technician to coordinate repairs; manages repairsCoordinates equipment preventative maintenance, makes recommendations for changes, and maintains inventory of laboratory furniture and equipmentAssists in managing the day-to-day operations of facilitiesManages and owns implementation of database for equipmentNegotiates vendor agreements, does quarterly analyzes, assesses if agreement pays for itself, etc.Partners with accounting on asset receipts and vendor agreementsConducts annual laboratory maintenance procedures for equipment and lab spacesManages laboratory inventory sheets related to cold storageAssist with Overall Safety ProgramAd Hoc Facility related servicesWhat education and experience do you need?High school graduate requiredBS degree in the Sciences preferred2 - 4 years of experience in lab work preferredOperational knowledge of laboratory equipment or ability to learn and techniques as well as safety and regulatory compliance knowledgeEffective computer skills including experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and general internet search skills; PowerPoint experience is a plusBehavioral Competencies Required:Understanding or willing to learn of the experimental objectives and how they fit into the overall project and the broader company goals; can understand and support needs of researchers to drive the direction of the projectsPossesses an understanding of safety implications and will recommend the best course of action as it relates to equipment and processesExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProblem-solving abilitiesOrganizational skills and detail orientation with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneouslyAbility to build and maintain positive working relationships with all levels of the company and vendorsAbility to represent Omeros in a professional and courteous mannerOther Responsibilities:May be required to come in on weekends and work late providing emergency servicesOn Call for emergenciesPhysical Demands Required:Intermittent physical activity including bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, or lifting up to 30 lbs.May encounter prolonged periods of sitting or standingThis position requires working around hazardous materialsCompensation and Benefits:Omeros is proud to offer a competitive total compensation package designed to support the lives of our employees and their families. The wage scale for Laboratory Equipment Coordinator position is ($31.25/hr - $38.46/hr). Salaries will be determined based on knowledge, skills, education, and experience relevant to the role. Employees are offered medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a 401(k) plan with a company match. Employees accrue three weeks of vacation and 80 hours of sick time on an annual basis and receive twelve paid holidays throughout the calendar year.
