*Overview* The role of an Optometrist is essential in providing comprehensive eye care services to patients. This position involves examining, diagnosing, and treating various visual disorders and eye diseases. Optometrists play a critical role in enhancing patients' quality of life through proper vision correction and education on eye health. The ideal candidate will possess strong clinical skills, a commitment to patient care, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team. *Duties* - Conduct thorough eye examinations to assess vision and detect eye diseases. - Prescribe corrective lenses, including glasses and contact lenses. - Provide patient education regarding eye health, treatment options, and preventative care. - Maintain accurate medical records in compliance with HIPAA regulations. - Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other healthcare professionals for comprehensive patient management. - Stay updated on advancements in optometry practices and technologies. - Utilize electronic health record systems (such as Epic) for efficient patient management. - Assist with sales of eyewear products while ensuring excellent customer service. *Skills* - Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology related to the visual system. - Proficiency in patient care practices and a commitment to maintaining high standards of service. - Familiarity with ophthalmology principles and practices is preferred. - Excellent customer service skills to enhance patient interactions and satisfaction. - Ability to manage medical records accurately while adhering to HIPAA guidelines. - Experience with sales techniques in a healthcare setting is beneficial. - Competence in using electronic health record systems for documentation and patient tracking.
