Fitness Specialist (CYS) NF-03.

DutiesResponsible for the delivery of a wide range of installation youth fitness, health, and outreach programs in multiple CYS settings. Develops and maintains and partnerships with schools and community organizations.Within an existing curriculum, develops and implements lesson plans and appropriate environments that incorporate a broad range of fitness and health activities for early childhood, school age, and youth program participants.Assists in training coaches using the National Youth Sports Coaches Association (NYSCA) guidelines. Provides assistance in planning practices to warm up/cool down techniques, injury prevention, proper use of materials and equipment.Shares expertise in the operation of age-appropriate exercises and skills development for children and youth.Helps inspect facilities/programs to ensure compliance with applicable standards and makes recommendations for improvements. Resumes should clearly demonstrate the applicant's relevant experience, skills, knowledge and abilities as they pertain to this position.A Qualified Candidate Must Possess The FollowingA bachelor's degree or higher in exercise physiology, exercise Science, kinesiology, physical education, or other fitness-related disciplinesORAll of the following equivalent in scope and complexity to the next lower grade level: Experience in the application of fitness principles, concepts, and techniques gained through the delivery of a comprehensive group fitness program. Experience or education demonstrating the knowledge of basic health and nutrition concepts. Experience training coaches or other professionals (i.e., teachers, caregivers, fitness instructors) in the proper application of sports or fitness techniques.In addition to the above qualifications, candidates who possess the following qualifications will be considered "Highly Preferred" or "Best Qualified":Highly qualified candidates will possess experience in the planning, evaluation, or delivery of a fitness program or curriculum specifically for children or youth; or at least 12 semester hours in college coursework directly related to children or youth (i.e., PE for children, motor skills development, childhood development, early/elementary/secondary education, health/nutrition for children, child/adolescent psychology, etc.).Applicants that possess highly preferred criteria may be sent first for consideration.EducationPlease provide any relevant transcripts or certificates that support your eligibility for the position.A $14,250 relocation incentive is available for this position. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.Incumbent is entitled to a 1.49% Cost of Living Allowance, contingent upon eligibility.COLA is subject to change without notice.Incentives and BonusesAs an added employee incentive, the Department of Defense (DoD) granted approval to extend temporary limited commissary privileges (excluding the purchase of tobacco or alcohol products) to CYS employees. This temporary approval expires 31 December 2026. A $14,250 relocation incentive will be paid for selections made from this vacancy announcement after one year of service. Eligibility for this incentive will be applicable to current NAF employees only to accept an RFT position in a different geographic area requiring a PCS move. The relocation must be without a break in service.
