The longest running restaurant on Church Street Marketplace; family owned and operated Bright street level kitchen, renovated new in 2019! Air conditioned kitchen! Take-out counter located on Bank Street. Experience preferred, but not necessary. Hiring for full-time and part-time positions. Starting pay $20 hour, plus shared counter tips. Free Parking. Captain Tom's Tiki Bar is located behind Ken's Pizza & Pub on Bank Street; open late spring to early fall. The cozy atmosphere and extensive menu are inviting to all ages. Serving up Pizza, Pasta, Stromboli, Homemade Soups, Sandwiches, Salads, and Pub fare, along with a full bar of beer, wine and cocktails. Duties: - Must be available to work during Summer 2026 months - Must be able to lift over 50lbs - Answer call-in orders - Take customer orders at Take-Out window & handle transactions - Operate Toast POS Terminal - Prepare and cook food items according to recipes and quality standards - Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner and meets the required standards - Follow VT Health Code rules & regulations, proper food handling techniques and sanitation procedures - Maintain a clean and organized work area - Work well with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations - Follow directions from lead cook, help where needed - Help with dishes/running food/stocking/etc. Experience: - Previous experience working in a restaurant or culinary setting is preferred, but not necessary - Knowledge of Toast POS System is preferred, but not necessary - Knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology - Familiarity with kitchen equipment, including knives and other cooking tools - Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously - Strong attention to detail and ability to follow direction - Strong communication skills If you have previous experience in the food industry, possess strong culinary skills, and thrive in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.
