Senior Software Engineer – Application Security

We’re hiring a Senior Software Engineer with an application security focus. This role centers on building backend services, primarily in Java, and developing internal security dashboards that help teams understand and act on security findings. Responsibilities Build and maintain backend services that power internal security dashboardsDevelop security tooling that helps engineering teams see risk, ownership, and remediation statusTurn security findings into clear, actionable insights for developersWork closely with engineers, security partners, and technical leaders to improve secure development practicesIdentify gaps in application security workflows and build scalable solutionsOwn features from design through delivery and ongoing improvementAutomate reporting, data integration, and ownership tracking to reduce manual effortContribute to shared engineering patterns, standards, and best practicesSupport proofs of concept and demos with stakeholders and end users Qualifications Strong software development experience with a solid Java backgroundExperience working within or alongside an application security or security-focused engineering teamHands-on experience integrating security tools into development workflowsAbility to communicate clearly and collaborate across technical teams Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Chicago, IL. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $55.00 - $70.00/hr.
