Senior Full-Stack TypeScript Developer (Node.js/APIs/React) (US-Only Contract)
Full-Stack TypeScript Developer DevelopmentNow is an award-winning creative digital development agency based in Portland, OR. We are currently seeking a Full-Stack TypeScript Developer to work on contract. We transform businesses through mobile, web, and emerging technology solutions. We have provided digital solutions for a variety of companies, including startups, agency partners, and enterprise Fortune 500 firms. Some of our recent clients include Kelly Services, Microsoft, BBDO, AT&T, Ogilvy, Manheim, Avery Dennison, and Time Warner Cable. This is a fully-remote senior contract position. You must physically reside and work in the US. This full-stack role focuses on designing and building robust backend systems and APIs that power modern web applications. You will build scalable services, design clean APIs, and integrate with a variety of internal and third-party systems. You will also contribute to front end React code on occasion.
Responsibilities:
- Build scalable web applications by designing, building and maintaining high-performance, reusable, and reliable code
- Design and build scalable backend services and APIsModel and manage application data, integrations, and service architecture
- Contribute to frontend features and UI improvements using React and NextJS as part of a full-stack development workflow
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to ship new features across the stack
- Troubleshoot and resolve performance bottlenecks, integration issues, and production bugs
- Participate in code reviews and architectural discussions to maintain high engineering standards
- Contribute to documentation and development workflows using tools like Jira and Confluence
- Stay current with modern backend patterns, frameworks, and cloud technologies
Required Skills and Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years experience in professional software development
- Experience with TypeScript and Node.js frameworks such as NestJSExperienced with React or other modern frontend frameworksExperience designing and consuming REST or GraphQL APIsExperience building data models and integrating with databases and third-party services
- Understanding of web architecture, API design principles, scalable system design, and patterns and best practicesExperience using APIs to integrate web applications with server side systems
- Ability to understand business requirements and translate into technical requirements
- Passionate about technology and willing to develop expertise
- Experience using Git, CI/CD workflows, and modern development practicesExperience working in collaborative, agile engineering teams
