Logistics Management Specialist

Performs developmental assignments of moderate difficulty where work procedures are established and a number of specific guidelines exist.
Independently performs recurring assignments of limited, but gradually increasing, difficulty and complexity.
Participates in special initiatives, studies, and projects.
Drafts or prepares a variety of documents including newsletter items, responses to routine inquiries, reports, letters, and other related documents.
U.S. Citizenship is required.
Males must be registered for Selective Service, see www.sss.gov
Total salary varies depending on location of position.
Permanent Change of Station (PCS) expenses may or may not be authorized. PCS expenses if authorized will be paid IAW JTR and Air Force Regulations.
Employee must maintain current certifications.
A Non-Critical or Critical Sensitive security clearance may be required.

Mobility - you may be required to relocate during or after completion of your training.
You will be required to serve a one year probationary period.
Successful completion of all training and regulatory requirements as identified in the applicable training plan.
Must meet suitability for Federal employment.
Must be able obtain and maintain Life Cycle Logistics Level 1 certification within 24 months of accepting this position.
Knowledge of basic principles, concepts, and practices of logistics management concepts.
Skill in applying basic principles, concepts, and practices of the occupation sufficient to perform entry-level assignments in logistics management.
Skill in communicating factual and procedural information clearly, orally and in writing.
Ability to analyze problems to identify significant factors, gather pertinent data, and recognize solutions.
Ability to plan and organize work, and consult effectively with co-workers.
Applicants must have served at least 52 weeks at the GS-07 or higher grade (or equivalent in an alternate pay system) within the Federal Civil Service to be considered for referral.
Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
Refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service Programs (i.e., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student and social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge and skills that can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
These positions are being filled under the Direct Hire Authority for Certain Personnel of the Department of Defense. The Secretary of the Defense has delegated authority to appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service in the Department of Defense; positions are located Air Force-Wide. Positions are filled as permanent with a full-time work schedule. Pay may vary by geographic location. The program offers a 3-year formal training plan with yearly salary increases. Promotions and salary increases are based upon your successful performance and supervisory approval.
You MUST provide transcripts to support your educational claims. Education must be accredited by an accrediting institution recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Please submit copies of all transcripts, to include transferred hours-official copies are not required at time of application. If selected, you will be required to provide official copies of all transcripts. NOTE: Degree Audits are not accepted.
If you qualify based on undergraduate, or higher level education, and you have not graduated prior to applying for this position, you may be offered a position, contingent upon your final grade point average or class ranking.
Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
