This is a fully remote teaching position designed for an educator who is passionate about technology education and thrives in a virtual learning environment. The K–8 Computer Science Teacher will support students across multiple grade levels through a combination of asynchronous instruction and live, synchronous interactions, providing personalized guidance, feedback, and academic support.This role requires strong communication skills, comfort with educational technology, and the ability to build meaningful relationships with students and families in a remote setting. The teacher will support students as they explore key areas of computer science, including how technology works and how to use it safely and ethically. This role is highly collaborative, working closely with educators and staff across departments and grade levels.What You’ll DoDeliver high-quality online instruction through a combination of asynchronous coursework and live virtual teachingEngage K–8 students in a structured, interactive, and supportive virtual classroom environmentSupport students in developing foundational and intermediate computer science skills, including coding, digital literacy, and computational thinkingTeach and guide students in areas such as game design, web design, and 3D modelingMonitor student progress and provide timely, personalized, and constructive feedback on assignmentsProactively identify learning gaps and implement targeted interventions to support student masteryCommunicate regularly with students, parents, and school staff via email, phone, and video conferencingHold virtual office hours, one-on-one student meetings, and parent conferencesCollaborate with curriculum and academic teams on course development and instructional best practicesParticipate in school-wide meetings, professional development, and community eventsPlan and participate in live virtual events, clubs, and student engagement activitiesMaintain accurate records of student performance and engagementUphold confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions What We’re Looking ForBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Education, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferredActive teaching certification with authorization to teach K–8 computer science or a related subjectExperience teaching computer science or technology courses across elementary and/or middle school grade levelsExperience with online teaching, virtual instruction, or educational technology strongly preferredProficiency in programming languages such as Python, Tracy, Micro:bit, and JavaExperience with game design, web design, and 3D modeling instructionStrong understanding of digital citizenship, online safety, and ethical technology useExcellent communication and relationship-building skills with students and familiesStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities across grade levelsAbility to work independently in a fully remote environment while collaborating with a distributed teamPassion for education and commitment to student-centered learning Work Environment and ScheduleFully remote position within the United StatesFull-time, 12-month roleAvailability required during standard business hours (Eastern Time)Participation in live, synchronous sessions, student appointments, and school eventsOccasional evening availability may be requiredPeriodic travel for in-person events, training, or team gatherings Technology RequirementsReliable, high-speed internet connectionDedicated home workspace suitable for virtual instruction and meetingsExperience with learning management systems, video conferencing platforms, and digital tools preferredTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
